Separation is never easy, but finding a path forward doesn’t have to mean going to court.
At Brisbane Family Mediation Centre (or BFMC as we like to call ourselves), we support families to have the important conversations that matter—calmly, respectfully, and with guidance from experienced mediators who care.
Whether you’re at the very beginning of your separation or already further down the track—maybe even in Court—we’re here to help you find a better way forward. Our mediators can support you in having conversations in working towards parenting and financial arrangements that work.
We offer professional, supportive family mediation for couples across Australia. Our goal is to help you reach workable agreements—so you can navigate this next chapter with clarity, calm and confidence.
Mediation is a confidential process where you and your former partner (or any other person you need to work things out with) work through family law issues with the support of a neutral professional. That person is called a mediator, or sometimes a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) if parenting matters are involved.
Most people find mediation helpful because:
We know that a full-day mediation can feel overwhelming, so we offer several flexible options—including shorter sessions over time—to help you stay focused and avoid burnout.
Mediation gives you more control, more flexibility, and a far more peaceful path forward. You can resolve matters confidentially, quickly, and on your own terms—with expert guidance to keep things on track.
• You’ll each have a voice—no interruptions, no pressure.
• You stay in control of the outcomes.
• You can mediate in-person, online, or even in separate rooms if needed.
Led by experienced mediators Clarissa Rayward and Michael Foote, our team brings warmth, empathy, and a practical approach to every conversation.
We make the process as simple and stress-free as possible—from your first enquiry to the final agreement.
You can check our availability online, call our team or book online when it suits you.
Not quite sure if mediation is right for you? That’s okay. We’ve put together some helpful (and free) resources to guide you.
Or feel free to reach out—we’re always happy to help.
